Every content creator wants engagement. Engagement leads to trust from your audience. That trust can lead to sales of your product and traffic to your website. Being creative feels like it gets tougher as the competition gets stiffer. But there are plenty of platforms out there and lots of opportunity for everyone. Try these simple tips for creating engaging content.

Evoke emotion

You want to connect with your audience and make them feel something. If you leave them feeling something they will share it. Your audience will feel like they know you better.

Follow current trends

It’s human nature to want to be in the know. If you can provide a unique perspective of what is currently trending, you will get engagement. Staying up to date on what is current is important for engagement.

Use humor

People want to laugh. Especially with as heavy as life tends to get, a little comedic break can be just what the doctor ordered. People love to share funny memes.

Put together a contest

Who doesn’t want to win? Most of us are competitive by nature. A fun contest can be a great way to create engagement. This allows your audience to get personally involved.

Keep the conversation going

Respond to comments. If someone takes the time to comment make sure you respond. This is a great way to get to know your audience and to gain trust.

Creating engaging content does take some time. Play around and see what works best for you. Every audience is different so what works for one person may not work for you. Find your sweet spot and you will see your engagement rise. As always keep your audience in mind. The most important step is knowing who is your audience.

What have you found gets you the most engagement on your content?
